How to measure my Dog or Cat for their bed?
As a general rule the bed should be large enough for your dog or cat to lie comfortably in all natural positions. Some dogs prefer to sleep curled up but this does not mean that a bed is big enough just because they can curl up. Can they also lie stretched out too?
To measure your dog or cat, have them in a standing position and using a tape measure, measure from the tip of their nose to the base of their tail. Then add 4-6” (10cm - 15cm) for cats and small dogs, or 8-12” (20cm - 30cm) for medium to large dogs. This should then be the size of the bed you are looking for.
