Glucogard has been formulated to balance a deficiency in nutrients that frequently leads to an insulin resistance, to circulatory disorders and soft tissue injuries in the hoof. It is recommended to supplement the daily feed ration of horses susceptible to laminitis with Glucogard.
supplementing an increased need for vital nutrients after laminitis
in case of acute risk of laminitis
matches the mineral feed requirements in case of a pure ro ughage die
perfect addition to Equigard
Reducing the risk
Glucogard has been specifically designed to address the need s of horses suffering from the Equine Metabolic Syndrome or horses susceptible to laminitis. In this situation, it is imp ortant to increase the tissue’s responsiveness to insulin on the basis of a diet low in grain. A ccording to the latest science findings, this considerably reduces the risk of laminitis.

The functional nutrients in Glucogard can provide valuable assi stance in this respect. The sugar and insulin metabolism depends on B-vitamins and minerals such as magnesiu m, zinc, manganese and trivalent chromium. Cell-protective vital nutrients such as vitamin E and seleniu m contribute to the insulin molecule’s integrity and protect the hoof corium against inflammation, additionally a ssisted by nutrients derived from brewer’s yeast and special fodder herbs which support the insulin with the blood suga r control. Glucogard contains all mentioned active agents in biologically active form, including chromium as component of the brewer’s yeast and supplemented herbs.

Protecting the hoof complex
Circulatory disorders in the hoof complex are known to encourage the development of laminitis, accompanied by decomposition of lamellar horn and corium structures and p owered by inflammatory activities. Thus functional nutrien ts have to fulfil an important task as they have to ensure a sufficient blood circulation and to control the inflamma tory process. Deficiencies in supplementing these active agents i n sufficient quantities with the food can lead to a weakened immune system and promote the development of laminitis.

Glucogard has been specifically formulated to provide th e adequate natural antioxidants and plant-derived prote ctive nutrients to counteract these deficiencies. This is how Glucogar d contributes to overall hoof quality and health.
