Pure Feed Veteran Pellets are a soya-free, fortified senior horse feed that combines high-quality fibre, slow-release calories and quality protein in a convenient pelleted form. Supplied in a 15kg bag, the pellets can be soaked to make a soft mash for older horses that find chewing harder.
The current formulation contains elevated vitamins and minerals together with fructo-oligosaccharides and live yeast. It provides 12.66% protein, 20% fibre, 5% oil, 4% naturally occurring sugar and 7% starch.

Who are Pure Veteran Pellets suitable for?
Pure Veteran Pellets are designed for older horses that need a fortified feed and may require additional calories to maintain condition. Soaking the pellets can provide a softer texture for horses with worn or missing teeth, but dental problems, weight loss and sudden changes in appetite should still be investigated by a vet and qualified equine dental professional.
A horse’s age does not determine the correct ration on its own. Consider bodyweight, body condition, teeth, workload, forage and any veterinary diagnosis. Low sugar and starch figures do not make a feed automatically suitable for every horse with laminitis, equine metabolic syndrome or PPID.
Feeding guide
Feed 400–600g per 100kg of bodyweight per day, depending on condition and work. For a 500kg horse, the manufacturer’s stated range is approximately 2–3kg per day. Divide larger daily quantities between suitable meals, weigh the feed accurately and introduce it gradually.
The pellets can be soaked into a soft mash. Follow the current water ratio and preparation instructions printed on the bag, allow the feed to soften fully and check its temperature and consistency before feeding.
