Versele-Laga Country’s Best SHOW 1 Crumble is a complete starter feed for chicks of pheasants, partridges, guinea fowl, quail and ornamental fowl, including peafowl. Its crumble texture suits young birds of different sizes, while 26% protein supports early growth.
The formula contains a coccidiostat and includes omega-3 fatty acids and natural pigments to support feather condition.
Feeding guidance
Feed freely from hatching through the first six weeks in the standard ornamental and game-bird programme. Before moving to a grower pellet, check that the chicks can pick it up and swallow it comfortably.
Provide suitable grit and a plentiful supply of clean drinking water. Bag size: 20kg.
For very young chicks, use a low feeding tray or offer feed on paper during the first few days to help them learn to eat.
Fattening pheasants
Versele-Laga gives a separate programme for fattening pheasants: continue this crumble to eight weeks, then change to FARM 2 PURE Pellet or FARM 2 PURE Mix.
Turkey poult feeding information
For turkey poults, Versele-Laga DINDO 1 Crumble is the manufacturer’s dedicated starter for the first three weeks. Follow the turkey feeding programme and check that product’s current availability and feeding instructions.
Feeding precautions
- Keep away from horses and other equines: this feed is dangerous to them.
- Some medicines are incompatible with this feed. Check compatibility before using it alongside medication.
- Do not combine different organic acids or their salts when any is already at or close to its maximum permitted level.

When should I change from SHOW 1?
Versele-Laga’s staged programme uses SHOW 1 for the first six weeks, followed by SHOW 2 Pellet in weeks 7–12. Check that the birds can eat the new pellet comfortably.
