With triple layered cooling technology, this new Cooling Coat gives the active dog owner control and reassurance on warmer days. If it's sunny outdoors, the Cooling Coat will cool your dog and keep it refreshed, allowing you both to enjoy summer adventures. 

Simple to use and quick acting, its active water cooling power keeps your dog cool throughout the day.
Soak the Cooling Coat in cold water, wring it out, pop it on, and the dog's temperature will start to lower. Using evaporative cooling technology, three layers work together to reduce the dog's heat. 

With the maximum rating of UPF 50+, the outer silver layer deflects the sun's rays. The middle layer holds cool water in a reservoir section. The dog's heat activates the cooling power of water, mocking 'sweating' which cools the dog. The inner comfy mesh layer acts as a membrane. For continuous cooling ensure that the central layer is soaked at all times. 

It is always best to use the coats as a preventative measure rather than wait until your dog is panting and overheating. Always seek shade and provide water on warmer days and note that different dogs tolerate different temperatures dependent on their breed, size, coat, age and weight.

When to use a cooling vest

Like all dog accessories, it is important to use a Cooling Vest properly. This is especially important as they are a product that is more likely to be used on hot days, when the risk of heatstroke in dogs is higher. Heatstroke is serious, can happen quickly, be hard to detect and can be fatal. Our view at Ruff and Tumble is that Cooling Coats are designed to keep a cool dog cool, not cool a hot dog.
Although Cooling Gear will aid cooling, over-reliance on it is dangerous in certain temperatures/situations. It is naïve to see them as a simple solution for heatstroke prevention, and they are not a treatment for heatstroke.

A Cooling Coat is something you would pack, with water to charge it, on a normal warmish day when you are out and about with your dog. You may use it on a car journey, in the shade, the house, when you have to go out, when it is warmer than normal, or when you think your dog may risk getting too warm. Active dogs and
owners welcome Cooling Coats as a way of keeping dogs cool when exercising – not on very hot days of course – but when it is sensible to do so and they could become warm.

    Sizing Guide

    Cooling coat sizes differ from Drying Coat sizes. Please double check your sizes using the guide below.

     

    Sizes are adjustable using the sliders on the chest straps. To determine the right size for your dog, you need to know your dog’s chest size and 'topline' (the topline is measured from the shoulder blades to the start of the tail). 

    If your dog is between two sizes we recommend taking the smaller size.
