Solitary Bee Hive. An original Wildlife World Design.

The holes of the solitary bee hive are exactly the right size to attract non-swarming solitary bees. Examples of these gentle bees are Red Mason Bees and Leafcutter Bees. Industrious and safe around children and pets because they don’t sting. Attracting solitary bees to your garden is vital for the pollination of flowers, fruit and vegetables

Female bees are naturally attracted to lay their eggs in holes in wood and they are simply fascinating to watch. See how they fill the bee tubes from April to August, depending on species of course. Watch what materials they use to seal off their eggs cells. Mud for some solitary bee species or leaves for others.

Importantly the stacking beehive trays can be taken apart for viewing. You will see the egg cells or even the bee larvae inside. A more perceptive eye may also see where predators have been active inside the bee tubes.
